Attention Policyholders Impacted by August 10th Storm

September 10, 2020

We are now one month past the derecho storm of August 10th. By all measures, this is the worst storm in the 136-year history of IMT Insurance. To date, we have received more than 5,600 derecho claims with a total incurred loss of $73.3 million.

Reinsurance Strength
We are thankful to our reinsurance partners for their support and protection from these enormous catastrophe losses. Due to a well-designed reinsurance program, we will have the capacity and financial resources that we need.

Claim Update
Almost all our derecho claims have now been inspected. As of today, 43% of these derecho claims have been completed and are now closed. Going forward, our focus will be on completing the remaining estimates of damage and getting payments into the hands of our policyholders as quickly as possible. Our goal will be to finalize as many of these claims over the next month as possible.

Thank you
Thank you for your patience and understanding in the handling of these derecho storm claims. We are proud of our IMT response and know the work is not done yet. We promise to do everything to live up to our slogan of Be Worry Free!
