In 1884 the Iowa Mutual Tornado Insurance Company was formed to provide wind and tornado insurance to farmers. As the company grew and expanded into other states the name was changed to IMT Insurance Company. It has become a financially strong midwestern property and casualty organization with more than 120 years of proven performance. Today, it provides many different forms of protection for home, auto and business.

IMT is marketed through a growing network of local independent insurance agents in Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin. IMT also provides liability insurance for the farm exposure.

IMT's home office is in West Des Moines, Iowa.
